Nicole has over six years of experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and addictions. She support individuals through one-on-one counselling and group and family counselling. She works in collaboration with individuals and their support team in order create a holistic treatment plan that is well suited for their needs. Nicole offers an eclectic strength-based approach in her practice, drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches depending on the unique needs of those she is working with. This can include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Practice, and Motivational Interviewing.
Nicole is a Qualified Facilitator in Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT), an evidence-based program developed by Dr. Jean Kristeller, co-founder of the Center for Mindful Eating in New Hampshire. She is also on the pathway to becoming a Certified Facilitator in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR through the School of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts.
Nicole LeBlanc facilitates the following groups:
Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT)
This 10 week program addresses mindless eating, emotional eating, overeating, and obesity through the application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, general nutritional guidelines and mindfulness and meditation
Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention for Addictive Behaviours (MBRP)
This program aims to support individuals in maintaining and building on their treatment related goals, and create lifestyle changes that support recovery and personal growth. This is done through a variety of skill building techniques borrowed from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and mindfulness meditation practice.
This program is designed as an aftercare group for those who have completed a treatment program.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
This 8 week program integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness practice to support individuals in learning healthy ways to cope with stress, anxiety and other forms of mental and physical health conditions. Practical techniques will also be provided to enhance self care and create healthier, meaningful relationships with others.
Mindfulness Family Project
The aim of this 8 week group is to assist families in replacing unhealthy behavioural patterns with healthier, more skilful means of relating and responding to their needs and that of others. This shift allows more space for meaningful quality time within the family.
Self Management & Recovery Training (SMART)
Self-Management and Recovery Training. It is a non-profit, science based program that helps people recover from addictive behaviors. Addictive Behaviors can be alcohol, smoking, drugs, gambling, sex, eating, shopping, self-harm etc. No matter what addictive behavior you are not alone. This is a donation based group and we suggest a 5$ donation but all are welcome.
Nicole co-facilitates SMART Recovery groups on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m
Nicole utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches in her practice, including ACT, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and MI. Nicole works with individuals from the age of 16-99.
