Evelyne Clair

RP (Qualifying)

Student Therapist, Practicing Under the Direct Supervision of Shontelle Prokipcak

"Growth happens when we come to understand ourselves more deeply"

Evelyne Clair is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and student therapist practicing under the direct supervision of Shontelle Prokipcak. Her approach to therapy is person-centred, compassionate, and deeply non-judgmental. At the heart of her work is a genuine care for people and a belief that each person should feel empowered to guide their own journey toward a life that feels meaningful and successful — whatever that may look like for them.

Evelyne believes that greater self-understanding can create the conditions for meaningful change. She is particularly interested in the different “parts” we develop throughout our lives — parts that may protect us, help us cope, or get us through difficult experiences. These parts often developed for good reasons. But strategies that once kept us safe or helped us survive may not always serve us in the same way today. Therapy can offer a space to approach these parts with curiosity rather than judgment, understand what they are trying to protect, and explore whether they might need some updating.

Evelyne has a professional background working with people from diverse circumstances, including those whose experiences, choices, or life paths may exist outside traditional social expectations. This experience has strengthened her belief in meeting people where they are, without reducing them to their struggles, diagnoses, past decisions, or the expectations others may have placed upon them.

Her areas of interest include identity and life transitions, trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, self-esteem, and boundaries. Evelyne is developing an integrative approach grounded in person-centred therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with an emphasis on strengths-based practice and harm reduction.

Above all, Evelyne believes therapy belongs to the person seeking it. Her role is not to decide what a successful life should look like, but to offer curiosity, compassion, support, and thoughtful challenge as people come to understand themselves more deeply and determine what they want their lives to become.
